At La Clef Decamp, the atmosphere is upbeat with numerous bookings for the high season and the opening of new gîtes.

After the very strong tourist turnout during the two Ascension holiday weekends, the high season looks promising for La Clef Decamp, a gîte rental company in Villedieu-les-Poêles (Manche).
The company now manages a total of 35 residences, spread across Normandy, the Somme, Loire-Atlantique, and Alpes-Maritimes. “This June, we are welcoming a clientele more focused on seminars and family events (birthdays, weddings, bachelor and bachelorette parties…),” says Jennifer Decamp, founder and manager of La Clef Decamp. “For weekends, last-minute bookings are the trend.”
Regarding the summer holidays, the peak season will start a little later with the beginning of school vacations on July 8. “The period from July 15 to August 15 looks busy, with long-stay reservations and more international guests — Dutch, English, Belgian… Many clients also return year after year.”

One new gîte opened per month

This year, the company has been opening new gîtes at the pace of one per month.
“After the Moulin du Gast, we are opening a gîte in La Haye-Pesnel called Concorde, with décor inspired by civil aviation. A second, named Greenland, opens in Hudimesnil with a magical theme, including an enchanted cabin for children."
The third opening is in Souleuvre-en-Bocage, the fourth in Champeaux "in a house clinging to the cliff with breathtaking views over the Mont-Saint-Michel Bay". In August, a fifth gîte will open on a private island in the Bréhat archipelago (22), in a residence with two suites. All of these openings mark a pause for 2024. “Our goal will be to develop and optimize what we have built. In two weeks, we will organize a seminar with our team to improve our working conditions and make them even more visible in the rental market.”
