Luxury gîtes: fully booked for New Year’s

Founded in October 2016 and based in Villedieu, La Clef Decamp is a company specializing in fully equipped, four-star charming gîtes. Today, it manages 25 gîtes spread across Villedieu and its surroundings, northern Cotentin, the Somme, and Loire-Atlantique. The end-of-year period is traditionally a busy time for the company, and 2021 was no exception. “All our gîtes are booked for the three nights around New Year’s. The Christmas period was also very good, with only three small-capacity gîtes remaining empty. Across our entire portfolio, occupancy rates are the same as at the end of 2020,” says Jennifer Decamp, who runs the company with her husband Sébastien Cordon.
With the current resurgence of the health crisis, foreign clients are rare, and the gîtes are mainly occupied by French guests. “Our clientele is primarily families, many of whom have stayed with us before. We also host seminars, weddings, birthdays…”
No signs of slowing down: 2022 promises to be a busy year with new gîtes opening in Le Luot, Braffais, Plomb, Percy, and Mont-Saint-Michel. “We try to create attractive offerings without limiting our investments.”
All the gîtes are already equipped with spas, game rooms, and karaoke setups, and one even has a swimming pool. “We always want to innovate. In 2022, we plan to add multisport courts. Pools could also be installed in several of our gîtes.”
Regarding staff, the company currently operates with a team of 15. Of the 25 gîtes, Jennifer and Sébastien own about a dozen properties, while the other half are rented and managed under commercial leases.
