A 25th gîte for La Clef Decamp

La Clef Decamp, a company specializing in charming gîtes (four-star rentals), has just opened its 25th gîte in Saint-Planchers, near Granville.

The new gîte, Le Domaine de Lalie, offers high-end facilities. “This is our first rental with a covered pool. It also features a tennis court and a playground with a zip line,” says Jennifer Decamp, who runs La Clef Decamp with her husband Sébastien.

“Our rental portfolio has also recently expanded with the acquisition of new gîtes in Urville-Nacqueville, Amiens (80), and Courson (14). We now have 25 gîtes compared with six when the company was founded in 2016,” she adds. A former equestrian journalist in show jumping, Jennifer truly found her calling by creating La Clef Decamp. “I’ve always loved interior design. When we take over a new gîte, we renovate everything from A to Z, with furniture, game room and spa equipment… I love arranging and creating. My husband Sébastien structures and professionalizes the projects.”

The season equivalent to 2020

Of the 25 current gîtes (located in Villedieu, Valognes, Granville, Amiens, La Baule), 50% are owned by La Clef Decamp, while the other half are rented properties.

“We are always looking to acquire houses with the maximum number of bedrooms and as much space as possible. We seek beautiful properties, listen carefully to our clients, and do not limit our investments.”

Midway through the summer, the season is performing similarly to 2020 in terms of occupancy.

“Bookings started strongly in June with many corporate seminars during the week. In July, government announcements regarding the health pass clearly slowed the momentum. For August, eight of the 25 gîtes are still available for the first week. We expect last-minute bookings and will offer promotional deals. Weekends are fuller. Our clientele is mainly French, with only two foreign families booked so far.”

Bookings are made 70% online and 30% by phone. Currently, La Clef Decamp employs five office staff at the rue Carnot office and eight cleaning and hygiene agents.
